In a turbulent World Cup week in which only
Wales of the four home nations were able to produce a convincing
victory over competition from the developing nations, Trentham's
decisive defeat of Stoke's development squad must have provided
some small comfort. As a mark of respect we have produced
a photographic record of the occasion, an electronic condolence
which players may look back on with nostalgia in their search
for solace following the inevitable humiliation of the English
fifteen in the Quarter Finals. Full Sized electronic copies
of original photographs can be obtained on request from d.j.collins@cs.keele.ac.uk
by including the text 'Samoa deserved to beat England' in
the header.

The official photographer is in mourning as
he briefly thought that the Welsh number 8 Popham, deriving
from his own home town, might have been the one and the same
Popham that played along side him at St. Julians High School.
Sadly he was to learn that it was Grandfather Popham's youngest
son that had embarrased the All-Blacks. He is hoping for some
improvement in his disposition next Sunday.
